New Demo Reel soon!

Yes, it’s coming! I have to throw in a few more things here and there and make a slick intro animation. So I’m hoping it should be ready by the end of August like I had originally anticipated. Not much other news I can think of mentioning. In the mean time I found a new interest in a few new bands such as Sky Eats Airplane and Animals As Leaders. They both have an original sound but you can clearly tell who they are influenced by if you are familiar with the genre of music. I have also come across a fantastic solo artist named Pete Peterson! He composes most if not all of his stuff. And one of the drummers I had previously posted on my blog under inspiration has done some recording sessions for him. Check out the video because you get to watch the drummer, Travis Orbin, and get to hear some awesome musicianship by Pete Peterson. I love this stuff! C y’all.

 

Hard at work!

Hey everyone!

I just want to start off by saying I will soon have a new Demo Reel up and running. I would say a little later than sooner because I’m still finishing up some things that will go into this years demo reel. If I could set a date it would be sometime in August.

I have just recently finished two new commercials that will be airing for the shows Ultimate Outdoors and Outdoor Channel Outfitters! Outdoor Channel Outfitters was able to get a sponsorship from a Certified Outfitter as well as Duck Commander (popular Outdoor Channel Show) for the ultimate trip give away. I’m actually very excited for this particular commercial to air because it’s one of my favorite motion pieces I’ve created! Golden Moose Awards here I come! Other than that I’ve been rather busy. I have 2 shows to finish up by next week before I leave for a fishing trip. Should be fun.

This past weekend I went to Savannah to visit some old friends and that was amazing! I made some new friends as well. Anywho I plan to make it back for the 4th of July and spend more time with some great people. I hope everyone is doing well! Talk to you all soon!

 

Away from home…

I don’t think I’ve had a full weekend in the last 4 weeks. It’s ok though because I’ve been saving some money and been getting away from the office. I dont care to write much anymore.. maybe I’m getting lazy. I feel like I’ve gotten over some procrastination issues permantly and feel very productive however I feel very indifferent towards everything now. It can be a little unsettling sometimes but I’ve never been so truly in my life before. I’m smiling alot more so I probably don’t look as scary to everyone. I’m also thinking about continueing growing my hair out… maybe just a little trim around the sides. I notice that all my sentences begin with the letter “I” and more than half the time I’m saying I. I don’t know why this is. I have decided to work more on expanding my vocabulary by going through those vocabulary workshop books again! I sometimes wonder if anyone even knows this blog exists! Well I’m going to stop typing right now.

 

When they were good.

This was back in 2001. These guys were awesome but ended up losing a couple of key members down the road. They still make decent music today, but this was during the time period they truly shined.

 

This drummer..

Is the best drummer alive. His name is Travis Orbin and what an inspiration this guy is! He may not be the fastest drummer but he’s the most technically sound drummer I’ve ever heard. There are the little things he does that makes him stick out from everyone else. He’s mastered drum theory having completed over 60 drum books and he writes and composes his own drum parts. He’s been playing for 18 years. If this isn’t inspiration then I don’t know what is!

 

First music post..

Might as well use this blog for something more than just me. I don’t know if anyone even views this thing. Here’s some good music. Open your mind.

 

Well..

It’s been a while since my last post. There just has not been a whole lot going on. I’ve somewhat of a hermit lately but I’ve been staying productive for the most part. I stay motivated to keep my self lookin’ sexy. I also try to create things outside of work.. such as a new website design and a music video. It’s tough to work on the music video because I have to really be in the mood. I had started working on a new website design but I have already gone through 2 design Ideas and they haven’t stuck. I will soon be working on a new demo reel and I will eventually finish a new site design. I plan to release those both at the same time.

I continue to feel more content every day. It’s a really nice feeling. I don’t let anything bother me anymore and It’s hard to explain but the feeling is so great! I do sleep alot on weekends but It gives me alot of energy during the week. I def. would love to start doing some yoga. I should look into that. Work is going great and I just finished a new commercial. There actually may be a couple of things I need to change but it should go on air in the next month. I plan on going to Savannah a couple times within the next 3 months. There really isn’t much else to say.

Some days I’m in a very zen like state. And other days can be overwhelming in awesome. Kind of like this video below. Peace out!

 

Shrimping!

That’s right.. TJ and I had the pleasure of taking a weekend trip to Hilton Head, SC. We met up with the guys, Sam and Britt, that head Coastal Plains Outdoors. You can visit them here: http://www.coastalplainsoutdoors.com

The first day we were out and did some shrimping which was different. We filmed on two different boats at the same time and caught a ton of shrimp! I get the pleasure of editing this segment for one of our shows which is good news to hear. Also this is the first time we’ve had a shrimping segment on either of the shows so this is great!

Later that day we were treated to a nice dinner by Britt and his family. Sam, the VP was there as well.

The next day we got a chance to do some fishing. Unfortunately I forget what fish we were going for but the day wasn’t very active. We caught maybe 20 fish and 2 of them were worth keeping. Not the best day out on the water but shrimping made up for it. Earlier that day we filmed some footage for the Coastal Plains Outdoors CPO Pack commercial as well.

I am currently ahead in my editing work at the office. I just mastered out the Ultimate Outdoors season opener and just recently completed the 6th episode for Ultimate Outdoors. I have to work on some other things soon. One of which will be fixing some deer footage. I have to do some compositing work in AE which will be very challenging but I gladly accept this challenge.

Moving Along…

Hey all,

I’ve just come back from a trip. Well, I lied. I’ve been back for about a week now. I’ve been finishing up some lower third graphics for the new season for Outdoor Channel Outfitters. They all look good so far. I also had to go back and fix some things in the Promo for the new season because it looks like we are using it for the new Outdoor Channel Outfitters opening as well. I still would like to do some more work on it, but for now it looks great!

As far as my personal life (which I don’t talk about much on here).. I have reached a new level of awareness. I have been watching a few videos on this and one in particular involves Eckhart Tolle. Something very interesting he mentions is that spirituality and enlightenment are already apart of us. It’s the ability to live in full intention and feeling in the moment. There is no other time than NOW. I’m sure you have all heard that but think about it more on a deeper level. What that man has to say is genius and I thank him and all the other people out there like him. Now I can really enjoy the ride.
